Communal Wind Medicine Chest Plate

$33.00

Humans are a reflection of both land and animal. Our stealth, resilience, and ability to move in packs are all given to us by our canine relatives. The coyote has desert and mountain wind beneath their feet. Ancestral winds that help our feet move swiftly through all kinds of terrains and situations.

Our skin is created by kneading corn - a culmination of innumerable seeds pounded together to create a single body. Every kernel is intentionally selected to sow our future generations into reality.

We are reminded of our communal responsibilities as Coyote and Maiz people—to move with stealth for the sake of our ancestors, those we carry within us, and those to come.

-

The number 3 represents the past, present, future. Ancestors, our current selves, and our children. A reminder that we are more than just a singular moment of time or being. We honor all that has come before us, all that we are now, and all who will come.

The number 4 represents the four elements and the four directions. A reminder that we are the center and the surroundings that make this reality, all at once. We are surrounded, guided, and molded by unseen forces.

The number 7 is a reminder that our conduct and choices will affect the next 7 generations directly. We are a product of the 7 generations before us, and our work directly impacts those ancestral energies as well.

Materials: Coyote foot bones, Hopi maiz, deerskin leather, and sinew.

Made with care.
